The new Coach Factory Store, a well known product, is coming at Outlets of Anthem in Phoenix.

Coach Inc. opened the women's luxury handbag store and a shop for men at the Outlets at Anthem, 4250 West Anthem Way, in October. Outlet officials say this is the first Coach Factory Store in Arizona. Coach Inc. also opened a Coach Men's Factory Store at the mall. The stores sell designer handbags, wallets and accessories at a discount.

Before it opened in Anthem, the nearest Coach Factory Store was at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets in Cabazon, California.

New stores at the outlets this year include G by Guess, Sports Divas & Dudes, Posh Flops and the two Coach stores.

The Coach Factory Store is located in suites 520 and 620 at the Outlets at Anthem.

AnnTaylor Stores want for 2011 35 Loft Outlet stores and five Ann Taylor Factory stores.

The company said it plans to lease space at factory outlet malls that was formerly occupied by Liz Claiborne Inc.

AnnTaylor, which now has 894 stores including Ann Taylor, Loft, Loft Outlet and Ann Taylor Factory stores, said it plans to spend roughly $25 million to add the stores in 2011.

The company currently operates 18 Loft Outlet stores and 92 Ann Taylor Factory Stores.

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. said Wednesday that its operating partnership would offer senior notes to pay off debt and terminate two interest rate swaps.

Tanger is a real estate investment trust with 31 outlet malls in 21 states.

The senior notes, due in 2020, will be issued by Tanger Properties Limited Partnership.

The company didn't disclose the amount it hoped to raise but said it expected to use the proceeds to repay some of its $235 million unsecured term loan that's due in June 2011 and to terminate two interest rate swaps associated with that loan and repay borrowings under its unsecured lines of credit. Any remaining cash from the deal would become general working capital.

Banc of America Securities LLC, Wells Fargo Securities LLC and BB&T Capital Markets will be joint book-running managers.

Tanger is headquartered in Greensboro, N.C.

Tanger shares slipped 31 cents to $40.81 in afternoon trading Wednesday.

Aeon Co. plans to open its first outlet mall next autumn in Japan’s Saitama prefecture, Nikkei English News reported, without citing anyone.

The mall, less than 30,000 square meters (323,000 square feet), will be erected in the city of Koshigaya, next to the Aeon LakeTown shopping center, Nikkei said.

Aeon will spend tens of billions of yen (hundreds of millions of dollars), less than the usual cost for a regular shopping center, Nikkei reported.

Simon Property Group Inc. plans to add to its Virginia holdings with an agreement to buy all the outlet shopping centers of Prime Outlets Acquisition Co., including a center in Williamsburg recentlty expanded. The transaction, which assumes Prime Outlets’ indebtedness and preferred stock, is valued at $2.3 billion.
The Prime Outlets’ portfolio includes 22 shopping centers in major metropolitan areas such as Washington, D.C., and popular tourist destinations such as the center in Williamsburg. According to Simon, the outlet centers were 92% occupied at the end of the second quarter and generated annual sales per square foot of about $370. Under the terms of the agreement, Simon will pay $700 million in cash for the owners’ interest in Prime Outlets. 

The Prime Outlets chain was sold by its New York parent company, the Lightstone Group. Simon, based in Indianapolis, owns nearly 400 properties in the U.S., including Potomac Mills in Woodbridge and the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.

Prime Outlets Williamsburg has announced its fourth store opening in 2009 with the famous french brand Lacoste.

The outlet offers men's and women's fashions. Identifiable by its classic polo shirt, the brand calls itself "comfortable elegance." The 3,500 square foot store will be located across from the Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store.

The new store joins ESCADA Company Store, Direct Tools Factory Outlet and Fashion USA, which also opened outlet locations in 2009.

Despite the lingering concerns of local environmental groups, the Beaufort County Council gave final approval in the end of March to redevelopment plans for Tanger Outlet Center 1 in greater Bluffton.

Citing a greatly improved rainwater drainage system, 2.3 acres donated to extend Bluffton Parkway and an estimated $40 million to rebuild the shopping center from the ground up, the council voted 8-1 to grant Tanger the added commercial density it needed for the project.

Tanger will get an additional 30,000 square feet of commercial space on its 25 acres. In exchange, representatives for Tanger Outlet Centers promised to adhere to "green" building standards of the U.S. Green Building Council and an underground water filtration system to prevent runoff from draining directly into the Colleton River.
